Vermont Trip

Hey Guys!

I am back from Vermont. The trip was what I wanted and needed. I was away from work and responsibilities. I was away from texting, Facebook, snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, and twitter. I was in the middle of a mountain in Vermont in a cute little cabin with the most important people in my life, what more could I ask for.  In the cabin there is no service and no internet. If I we needed to call or check our phones we would have to go into the middle of the road or a little down the road to get any service. This didn’t bother me at all because I needed to relax and hang out with my family. We went shopping on day and the rest of the days we stayed back at the cabin and watched the Olympics, played Uno, played other board games, and chased Jordan around. I went with my parents, my brother, my aunt and uncle, my cousin, her two kids, and Sarah Jane. Her two kids Jordan (1.5 years old) and Brianna (5 years old) made the trip a lot of fun.  We were always laughing and just having a great time with those two kids. The original plan was to spend the day and go to ben and jerry’s factory, but that turned out to be 3 hours from where we were and that was too far.

Wednesday: We got in around 3am and unloaded the cars, set up the beds, and ate bagels. Then later that day a few of them went to the grocery store to get some food and those who stayed back did some more unpacking and I babysat Jordan and Brianna. The rest of the day was very uneventful we watched lots of the Olympics, and taught Brianna how to play Uno which we played for about 4 hours. The night ended early because everyone was so tired from the drive early in the morning.

Thursday: We all got up around 9ish and everyone took showers and we got ready to do some shopping. We headed into the town to this little down called Weston and we did some shopping for Vermont gear, maple syrup, and fudge. We then headed home people took naps and we prepped for dinner. Later night we had a bon fire, roasted marshmallows, and used the sparklers I bought in town. After, Sarah Jane, Brianna, and I took out a blanket laid on the grass and watched the meteor shower. It was pretty amazing. The skies in Vermont are so beautiful and so different then what we see in Jersey.

Friday: This day was the day that no one got dressed; everyone was wearing their pajamas all day. It was kind of a perfect day. We woke up I made eggs, bacon, and sausage for everyone. No one was in a rush to do anything. We played monopoly and it was the first time I personally every finished an entire game and I won which was so much fun.  We colored, made bracelets, played more games, walked outside, and just relaxed. We all started to make dinner which was really fun to cook and joke around together in the tiny kitchen. We ate dinner and then celebrated the three birthdays with chocolate cake which was not good. Ha-ha I do not like chocolate cake. That night we were also assigned a job that would have to be completed by the time we left. I got kitchen clean up and packing as well as Sarah Jane. We did a lot this night and would finish the rest the next day.

Saturday: The last day at the cabin. We all woke up ate some breakfast and began the cleaning and packing. It was 10am and everything was packed and cleaned except that the sheets were still in the washer and dryer. So instead of everyone hanging out I left with Lindsay, Sarah Jane, and the kids. Jordan was ready for a nap and his bed was backed so we decided to head out. Which worked out great because we fell asleep and we could just drive; the drive is only supposed to be 4.5 hours, but somehow it always is around 6 hours.

Well the trip was a success and I had a great time with my family. I also did not take any photos. I am not sure why I didn’t; I have like 4 pictures of the kids, and one group picture. In a way I am glad because I was living in the moment and I will have the memories and did not have to worry about documenting it.
