Where is my life heading?

So I currently have no job, no classes, and I have no idea where my life is heading. So at the end of the school year, I gave my boss my notice that I was not going to be back in the fall because I needed to find a job that was going to pay me more and I would be able to get benefits with. I will be twenty-six in February which means I will no longer be under my dad’s. So I have been looking all summer and I haven’t found anything yet. And on top of that, I never received my bill for my classes for the fall semester and I never received an email letting me know when tuition was due, so I figured I had more time. Well I was wrong and I lost all my classes and they are already full. So at this moment in time, I feel like my life is falling apart. I don’t think I am doing anything productive with my life.  The only income I have is the couple times I babysit, which is not enough money to pay the bills and fill up my gas tank.

If you asked me when I graduated high school where I would be when I was 25 I would have guessed I would be a college graduate, working, and not living with my parents. But right now I feel like my life is going nowhere and I have no idea what I am doing. So do I focus on school or do I find a job?  I just hate the way my life is going. I don’t feel successful and I have nothing to look forward to in my life.  I have applied for two jobs and didn’t get interviews and I have another application sitting on my desk that I need to send today.  When I look on my Facebook or Instagram people my age is working, done with college, married, and then there is me who has nothing right now. And I know I have a bed to sleep in and food to eat, but this is not the way I wanted my life to go. I am sitting here with tears running down my face not sure what is going to happen next. I try to think positive and know that sometimes life doesn’t go the way you hoped, but sometimes I just have these break downs where I don’t know what to do.

The next day.

I have been looking for jobs and I think I have two classes versus the five I was going to take. It’s something. I hate having those break downs like I had yesterday writing the first part of this post. Some days are better than others when it comes to being positive about where my life is going. All I can do continue to try and move forward with my life.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to post this blog because I was writing what I was actually feeling on Monday. These were the actual thoughts that were going through my mind and I am not a very open person with my feelings, but I am trying and this post is one that I am glad I am going to post. Today I am feeling a lot better; it’s just rough having those days.

A to Z |road trip tips

Hey, Guys!

So going on a road trip is one of my favorite ways to go on a trip. Sometimes they are filled with problems and stress, but there are ways to try to make the most of the trip. I have taken about 6 road trips since I turned 18, and I have learned many things during my experiences. I have come up with my A to Z road trips tips.

  • AAA is a great service to have (they saved us on one road trip)
  • Backpack, filled with snacks, water, books, and whatever else you want when you’re not driving
  • Car, make sure your car is ready for a road trip. Oil change, tire pressure, and an over all look through
  • Don’t over pack. Only pack the stuff you need. No one likes a stuffed car
  • E-ZPass is great and you don’t have to mess with change for the tolls
  • Friends are the best road trip companions
  • Gas, pay attention to your gas tank and how many miles between rest stops
  • Have fun
  • Ice in a small cooler or lunch bag will keep you from drinking warm drinks
  • Junk food is good, but keep some healthy snacks that are not going to drain your energy
  • Keys, bring an extra set of car keys and give them to another person
  • Loud music is fun, but make sure you are paying attention to the road and to things around you
  • Music, make cd’s  so you can listen to music when you in a zone where there is no signal
  • Negative is not needed in the car, keep it happy and fun
  • Opened mind, things could go wrong so keep an open mind
  • Plan, even if it’s just a rough plan
  • Quiet, make sure you are not really loud when someone is sleeping; they may need to rest so they can drive later
  • Relax; make sure you give yourself some time to relax when arriving to your destination
  • Snacks, this will save you money from expensive rest stops
  • Take lots of pictures to remember the trip
  • U will need a physical map, there will be times your phone or gps will have no signal
  • Vacuum and clean out your car before you go, this will just make the car more enjoyable
  • Walk, don’t forget to get out and stretch your legs
  • Xit (exit lol) make sure you are paying attention to the exits you need to take if you miss one sometimes it’s hard to get back on route
  • Yawn, if you’re tired change drivers or stop to take a nap
  • Zzz’s make sure get a good night’s rest before you leave for your trip

I hope you enjoyed my road trip tips. These are just based on my opinion. I also want to add that AAA and E-Zpass may not be available around the world. (AAA is a road side service and E-Zpass is basically a little device that you add money online, and it’s in your car and when you go through tolls it just takes the money instead of having to pay the toll each time).

Here are just a few pictures from recent road trips.

my biggest cheerleader

Hey guys

Hope everyone is having a great day. Today’s question is “Who is your biggest cheerleader?”

I did not even have to really think about this question because I know who my biggest cheerleader is and it is my best friend Sarah Jane. I honestly do not know how I got so lucky to have her as my best friend. She is one of the most important people in my life and she helps me with any problem I may have.  Sarah Jane is someone I can text and she will always respond with helpful advice, motivation, or a funny meme. We have been friends for about 12 years, which seems so crazy that it has been that many years and I would not change anything about it. As we get older the more we realize we are the same person. We are consistently sending each other the same thing at the same time. We love a lot of the same stuff, which we always laugh about.

As I am going through college, I have had some bumps in the road and even on the worst days when I felt like giving up Sarah Jane was there telling me I’m not allowed to and that I will make. I am now a year away from getting my bachelor’s degree and I would not have been able to get through it without her. She helped me study, edited my papers, and given me the motivation that I need to do it. I am so grateful to have her by my side. She recently just moved to another state which is about three hours away from here and I sometimes think about it how I do not have my best friend seven minutes away, but we are growing up and I am so proud of her and I we will be visiting each other all the time.

thanks, Sarah Jane love you

places i have traveled to

Hey guys!

I hope you guys are having a great week. I am in such a good mood, which I do not understand because today was the first day back to school and waking up before 10AM. But I decided that I was going to write this week’s post today because of my cheery mood. HAHA. So if you have read my last post I talked about the changes I was making in my life with diet and exercise. I thought I would give you a quick update and then write about what I am planning on writing about. So last Monday I started the dietbet, meal prepping, and exercising and it is paying off because I lost almost 5 pounds the first week. I am so happy and was excited to start another week. I have more energy and I am feeling like I can do anything. On Sundays, I do not track my calories its kind of my “cheat day,” but in my mind, I am watching my portions and also still staying away from sweets and sugar. Anyways, I am a big fan of Pinterest, I am on there once a day and I noticed that they have monthly blog prompts. So on days that I have nothing to really write about I will be using a prompt to get me started. Today’s prompt is a list of places you have gone.

So I was born and grew up in New Jersey, so the majority of the places I have been to are on the east coast. I put them in alphabetical order because I do not remember which order I went to these places.

  • Alabama
  • California
  • Canada
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Iceland (went when I was three)
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • Tennessee
  • Vermont
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia
  • Wisconsin

So that is all the places I have gone to. I have been to Iceland twice when I was young and I do not remember that much, but I was there. Fun Fact is that I am Icelandic; I have lots of family that lives there.  My list of top places I want to go is also just as long, some in the United States others are other countries. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do whether it’s a plane ride or a road trip I love it.  Ever since I graduate high school my friends and I have been going on trips a lot, nothing out of the country yet but there are plans soon to go to London, Iceland, and Ireland. One of the craziest trips I went on was to California by train. All I can say is it was an experience and I would not choose that choice of transportation to go across the country in again. Well, that’s all for this week’s post, I hope you enjoyed and I will talk to you guys soon.

Hey guys!

Welcome back! So I wasn’t so sure about what I wanted to write about this week, but I thought maybe I will talk about the changes I made this week.  So this is just a side story: so on November 25, 2017, my two best friends Joe and Sarah Jane got engaged and I couldn’t be happier for them. With that news, I get to me maid of honor which I am over the moon about. You could not wipe the smile off my face anytime we talk about planning and my duties as MOH. Anyways, that means we all want to look amazing for the wedding. So on Sunday, I spent 3 hours cooking and preparing food for the week. This is my first-time meal prepping and I must say it has been so nice not having to worry about what I am going to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also signed up for a dietbet. If you don’t know what it is it’s basically like a group of people who pay a certain amount of money (around $30) to lose 4% of your body weight in a month and everyone one who completes it splits the pot. I also started to work out every day. I haven’t really worked out in a while so I am starting with 20-30 minutes and eventually will add to that. I also drink lots of water. And like I told my friends I have a love/hate relationship with drinking tons of water. I hate having to pee 100x a day.

The first week of change is always the hardest. You have to get used to the new portions, making better choices, and your body gets used to working out. Overall I am feeling good, for the first time ever I wake up early and work out, take a shower, enjoy my breakfast and go on throughout my day. I am excited about the new changes in my life. I am already down three pounds in three days which makes me pretty happy. I am trying to stay under 1500 calories a day.  So I thought I would tell you what I have been eating this week.

Breakfast: I usually make overnight oatmeal. Which are old fashion oats, milk, and chia seeds in a mason jar overnight and I add a banana in the morning.  350 calories

Lunch: I have a green salad with veggies, hard-boiled, and a small sprinkle of cheese.  300 calories

Dinner: I have a piece of chicken with either rice or potatoes and then roasted peppers and carrots. 390 calories

Snacks: I usually just pick between these options: applesauce, yogurt, popcorn, corn chips and salsa. Some days I will have two other days more or less.

i am ready for you 2018!

Hey guys!

Happy New Year! It’s 2018 and I am excited. I have many things that I hope to happen this year. Just like every New Year you have a list of New Year’s resolutions. Well, this year I have 10 goals that I will be working hard to accomplish. Here are my goals for 2018:

  • Find a job
  • Exercise at least 4x a week
  • Eat clean
  • Meal prep
  • Save money
  • Be the best maid of honor
  • Kick ass in school
  • Pass praxis
  • Declare major
  • Prepare to move out

While I have these ten goals I also have two little things like writing a blog post once a week and posting a picture on Instagram (@heycassssssie) every day for the year of 2018.

I know this post is not that long, but I just wanted to talk about my goals. I want to wish everyone happy and healthy new years and good luck on your goals.

Rough First Week of School

Hey, Guys!

So I made it through the first week of the semester! It wasn’t easy, and I am already feeling a little over whelmed hence the break from studying to write a blog post.  So this semester is a pretty crazy one because I am going to two different schools. I am taking a math class at my community college because it was cheaper and closer. I am also taking 4 classes at Kean. I am taking: music survey, psychology: life span, college algebra, biology: anatomy & physiology, and Zumba from my p.e class.

While I only go to school three days a week it’s been rough trying to get back in the groove of things and remembering where I have to be and at what time. I had one mix up where I was heading to the wrong school, but I caught myself before I got too far out of the way. I have taken some time off from school, but this semester is the first time I am feeling really motivated to finish. I have a couple more credits to take and to pass the praxis test and then it will become graduation day. I have hit a lot of struggles in school since I left high school, and it has taken me a lot longer to graduate, but I am finally in the home stretch. I could not be more excited to actually have a college degree and begin working on my masters.

On top of the first week of school and I also had a pretty bad weekend. I was babysitting Gavin and Grayson which was not good, on top of trying to find money to pay for the semester tuition and books. It was a very emotion weekend; I cried a lot of tears in the playroom at their house. I was stressed with school, finding a job, the boys not behaving, and just other personal things going on in my life. It was just a full breakdown and I have to say after that I am feeling better about my life. I still struggle with school and still no job, but I feel like my life is finally going to be moving forward.

That’s all for this post. I am hoping to post more once I get more into the groove of things.

Travel Bucket List

Hey, Guys!

I have never been a person that likes to stay at home all the time. We all have those days where we do not want to go to work or school or even get out of bed. I may have one of those days once a month, but I love seeing and exploring new things. Traveling is one of my favorite hobbies to do. It really all started probably when I was nineteen years old. Carly and I decided to travel to California on our own. That was really my first trip without parents or not with the school. It was scary, thrilling, and so much fun and I am so glad that I got to experience that trip. This trip really opened my eyes on how I want to see many more places in and out of the United States. I live on the east coast of the United States and I have seen many states around including New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Delaware, West Virginia, Virginia, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, Florida, and of course California. My dream is to visit all of the amazing places on my travel bucket list. I first have to say I have been to Iceland twice, but both times I was under the age of 2 which I really have no memory of those trips. This year Sarah Jane and I are finally traveling outside of the United States. I am so excited to be able to travel and see new places, try new foods, and meet new people. So I am going to share my current travel bucket list, I may add new places as the years go by. I am really excited to check things off this list.

Travel Bucket List

  • Portland, Oregon
  • Seattle, Washington
  • Iceland (this year)
  • Ireland (this year)
  • London (this year)
  • Paris
  • Greece
  • Australia
  • Hawaii
  • San Francisco
  • Bora Bora

Please share with me places you want to go and cool places you have seen.
